xTool D1 not framing - moves left and right and stops

Yesterday, using LB 1.4, I cut a file perfectly on my xTool D1. Then I set up the next file for cutting this morning and shut everything down. Now, I can move the head around with LB, but it will not frame. Just moves left and right and then stops. Cutting also moves only on the x axis. Here is the console output from the frame request:

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Are you able to jog up and down using Move controls?
  2. If no, can you hear the stepper motor attempting to move?
    2a. If yes, check mechanical linkages between motor to gantry and identify where motion is being lost. Correct failure point.
    2b. If no, check if you’re in rotary mode either on the laser or in LightBurn. To me it looks like you may have enabled this on LightBurn due to Z moves being present.

Yes. Jog works fine.

My decision tree may not be perfect as it’s possible that jogging controls work on Y-axis even with rotary enabled.

But did you check to see if rotary is enabled in LightBurn? I suspect that might be the cause of the issue.

I just had the same issue. Everything would move fine except framing. Everything even the GO TO position button. But on framing it would go crazy and rattle and shake. I read this and the rotary button was enabled. Not sure how, but turned off and all is working again. Thanks so much for your post!!
