XTool D1 Pro 20W and LightBurn

I am new to laser machines and just purchased the X-Tool D1 Pro. I have searched the archives and cannot find my answer. I apologize if this has already been answered.

Enjoying the learning curve, but I am having some difficulty cutting the same material using XTool Creative Space software and Lightburn. Whereas in XCS I can cut 3mm basswood plywood using 6mm/s @ 100% power in one pass, LightBurn cannot at 360mm/m @ 100% (360mm/m = 6mm/s). Even at 300mm/m in Lightburn almost, but not quite cuts through this material. I understand that XTool is not an open source company, but want to do my work with LightBurn due to its much better features and tools. Am I doing something wrong?

I don’t believe so.

It would be interesting to measure the signal to the Laser Module on the D1 Pro at 100% with LightBurn and with XCS to see if the output is the same.

When your xTool D1 pro connects to LightBurn, what is the Firmware version number that is shared in the Console window? Please select and copy that text - and paste it into a reply here - so we can have it for reference.

If $30= 1000 and S value max (in Device settings) is 1000 then the GCode should send S1000 for 100% ‘Spindle’ or laser output.

If the GCode sends a spindle power command other than S1000 to the engraver, you’re looking at a mismatched setting in LightBurn. Anything else, you may be discovering something disappointing in the xTool firmware.

I recently helped an xTool user with a rotary device problem. It turns out that xTool modified their rotary tool behavior in their firmware to reduce speed and performance for LightBurn. This may fall into the same unfortunate category of firmware ‘enhancements’.
