Hello to all,
First post here, so hopefully I am doing this right, and posting in the right area!
I have a xTool D1 Pro, using the 40w module. I have had the 40w for about a year now, and have had almost zero issues with it cutting/engraving things via Lightburn. I was using a 10w, and a 20w for about 3 years prior to that.
However, my license expired last week, and it literally seems like since then I have been having a very strange issue when it comes to cutting a small radius.
I have been cutting Kraft paper for a wedding album I am working on, and I need 2 of the corners slightly rounded. The cuts are perfect, until the laser gets to the radius corners…The module makes a loud “slam” sound, does not cut the radius correctly, and then keeps going. The rest of the cut seems to be off because of that first slam.
I tried the same cut without the radius corners, and it was fine. No slamming, no messed up cut…I just do not get the radius corners I need.
I am homing the laser prior to each cut.
I can tell it is not a limit switch issue, as the corners with the radius are still well within the working area.
I have checked all my belt tensions, and they are all good.
I have renewed my license, and the issue is still there. I feel this is an issue that kind of “randomly” appeared, as I have done many cuts before similar to this with no issues. That is what made me think it might be a license issue.
I have attached a video to show what is happening. It is important to have the volume on so you can hear the “slam” sound the laser makes while cutting the radius corner, compared to the silence when cutting the 90°. Please see the video here (was not sure any other way to post the video, so hopefully this works): CUT VIDEO
I have also included 2 screenshots of the shape that is giving me issues. The green cut = no issues. Brown cut is the problem.
Any suggestions?
