Xtool D1 Pro Real Speed $110

Hi

The D1 pro is advertised as lightburn compatible, but is speed limited to 300mm/sec (18000 mm/min) as opposed to the advertised speed of 400mm/sec (24000).

I am thinking about getting an Xtool S1 but i am concerned that the advertised speed of 600mm/sec is not accurate with Lightburn.

Can anyone confirm?

Say what??? Lightburn has no control over the maximum speed of the laser. That is controlled entirely by the laser hardware and electronics.

I just created a box using 401mm/s in the Cuts/Layers window. It accepted and Previewed that just fine.

Can you provide where you saw this statement?

Hi. Thanks for replying.

i am aware that lightburn doesnt control the max speed.

What i am saying is that the firmware is limiting the D1 to 18000 mm/min (300 mm/sec).

I know this because i use it everyday.

Please type in the lightburn console $$ and tell me what number your $110=

Confusion here, I was responding to your questions. I guess the question here is what do you mean by “not accurate”.

I do not have a D1. My S1 Pro is $110=6000. Why do you ask?

Sorry, i think your not understanding the point i am trying to make…

The Xtool is supposed to be able to operate at a max speed of 24,000 mm/min (X-axis), however in lightburn the Xtool firmware is limiting the speed to 18,000 (x-axis) mm/min.

I have written to xtool and they have confirmed, although they have also confirmed that it is not the case with the S1 and that runs at the advertised 600mm/s in lightburn.

Thanks.

Note that this is a common laser manufacturer cheat.

Each axis is limited to 18000 mm/min, but the laser head will travel faster along a vector at 45° to the X axis, with Pythagoras in full effect:

25456 mm/min = sqrt(18000² + 18000²)

So they can claim “up to 24000 mm/min” with a completely straight face.

All this happens down in the laser controller. At the LightBurn level, you can set any speed you want, but the controller has the final say.

For most vector patterns, the machine cannot possibly reach those absurd speeds. It might get there on long engraving passes, but don’t hold your breath.
