I’m new to using Lightburn, and have minimal experience working with hobby lasers. I got an Xtool F1 as a pre-Christmas gift and love the little thing. I’d like to use Lightburn exclusively, but I don’t know how to preheat the IR laser (red-one). The CO2 (blue-one) works fine, but if I’m not using the Xtool Creative Space (XCS), I can’t preheat the laser. In XCS the program allows you to preheat the IR laser for 10 seconds before it commences a job. On Lightburn, the machine just runs and the IR laser does not come up to temp to engrave the design. Any help (especially if spoken to like someone with limited knowledge of the system) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
Ask xTool if there is a pre-heat GCode. If so, you can add it in with the Custom GCode feature.
Or you can create a macro that runs a small program for about 10 seconds.
By the way, I did not know the IR module needed a preheat. This changes everything.
