xTool P2 Support - Tentative buyer!

Hello, Apologies for starting a new topic on this, I know there have been a few in the past but I also have seen that there have been a lot of changes in the builds since 1.7.

I’m looking to get an xTool P2 (Or P2s) but it’s a dealbreaker for me If I can’t use Lightburn. xTool’s support site says:

I’m hoping to have confirmation if the following are now supported, or if there is a roadmap to have them implemented?:

Auto-focus

Camera (Both overhead and gantry mounted)

Framing

-

If these aren’t supported, and won’t be soon… My next post will be about recommendations on an alternative to the P2 that has full lightburn support! :wink:

Camera support is working in a Dev build, which should be available very very soon for all LightBurn 2.0: xTool P2 Controller camera missing from dropdown - #16 by Colin

Wow, that is awesome news! I assume Framing works, but what about the Autofocus? (Not a dealbreaker if I would have to manually adjust the Z, but not sure if even that is possible?)

LightBurn does not have the autofocus capability that XCS has built-in - that uses a hybrid of multiple camera systems and what would likely be a lot of developer time to replicate on LightBurn’s side of things.

Because we’re a small team, we have to prioritize Dev time aggressively and spending days or weeks building out autofocus for one laser amongst the hundreds we support isn’t the best use of that valuable time - for now. We definitely want to do it, when we can.
