I’ve been using LB with my S1 40w for over a year now. This particular problem pops up randomly and so far the only thing that resolves it is time. But, here we are again with this issue and I’d really like to find a solution as my workaround is not working either (ie use xtools Studio… it keeps throwing a riser base exception meaning the riser bases screws need tightening… i can’t even begin to tighten them anymore - so this workaround isn’t working for me either).
The problem: s1 is no longer responding to any LB command except for Home.
In this case, I was separate runs of the same job in when the laser stopped responding to LB (except Home). I did not power off either LB or the s1 in between jobs. I was just replacing the material and cutting again and the laser stopped responding. As stated before, I can usually just turn everything off, wait a few hours or overnight and things magically fix themselves. Hasn’t happened for me this time. Here is what I have tried:
- Restarted laser and LB
- verified I could connect via Xtool Studio (yep but getting the riser base exception, which as stated above - i can’t tighten the screws any more then they already are - diff prob for a diff day)
- Restarted the computer
- deleted the xtool device file and reloaded it
- verified connection by sending
G1 X10 Y10(triedG1 Y10too ) and hit ok - got Ok back in the console - opened the s1 lid and put magnets where the lid magnets hit on the laser enclosure (incase it was not registering the lid was closed) verified the s1 light changed back to purple from blinking yellowish indicating the lid was closed.
- waited overnight and tried all the above
- upgraded to 2.0.0.5
Nothing has worked yet. What am i missing that I can try?
