XY Slop Over Error

HELP!!! This happened a while ago and somehow fixed itself. Now it’s happening again and I don’t know why or how to fix.

I keep getting an XY Slop Over Error. I did use my rotary and do the update all prior to trying to use my machine to cut and engrave today. I have a Boss LS1416. I’ve reset everything I can think of. I’ve changed Origins and still get the error.

The Ruida computes the ‘overscan’ internally and applies that when you attempt to execute the layers. Overscan is extra ‘real estate’ that is required for your lasers head to slow down, reverse direction and speed back up.

If the overscan required by the speed setting takes the machine out of bounds it will complain about a ‘slop’ error… It will usually indicate what axes, in your case it appears both x and y will exceed the machines work area. I usually see it on only one axes… as I’m careful where I put it…

If you changed any of the controllers configuration for the rotary it could be an issue… If it’s up and homing on power up it’s probably ok…

Also check the ‘start from’ and ‘job origin’ in the laser window to ensure they are correct…

The display says you are at 0, 53, so you are close to the edge…

For the slop error you can usually slow the speed down or move it so it’s (and overscan) within the work area. I can’t tell how fast you have it set to engrave.

Make sense?

Ok, I’ll look into these things mentioned further tonight. Thanks!
