Hi guys if someone can help me, I have problem with Y axis, when I cut for example square shape and repeat that cut once more the cuts do not overlap but slightly moving down Y axis, the X axis is ok. I have CO2 laser 100w with Ruida controller
Let’s start by ruling out a surprisingly common misconfiguration. This may be an odd symptom of the Ruida “Skewed Engraving” problem due to an incorrect PWM Rising Edge Valid
configuration:
As a general rule, both PWM Rising Edge Valid
switches should be set to False
. Take a look at the settings for your machine and report back.
If that’s not it, then the problem may be mechanical. To help track it down, scale this test pattern to a reasonable size and run it as fast as it will go in Line mode with optimizations turned off and power set to mark a sheet of cardboard:
Any differences from the design will be informative. Upload good photos of the result so we can look over your shoulder.
These are the results, last picture is when I ungrouped and try to repeat that shape and it didn’t match. If I have noticed well laser cut shape correct but problem occures if I want to repeat shape, position of shape changes or it seems like that, maybe it is mechanical problem
What are the settings for the X and Y axis PWM Rising Edge Valid
switches?
Definitely, as the horizontal lines should be evenly spaced from top to bottom:
Which is why these circles have irregular positions:
There may be other problems, but finding and fixing the Y axis problem will go a long way towards better results.
You’re looking for a slight looseness, so finding it will require careful attention to detail in places with very difficult access. Run that test pattern as you eliminate possible problems, and when it matches the digital shape, then we can take a look at the repeatability problem.
A CO₂ machine may have loose or stripped screws in the laser head, so give it a good shake to feel for anything that’s not secure. We’ve also seen loose mirrors and focus lenses, so examine everything.
Thank you very much for you help
