If I cut the outline of a 3x3" square and try to go back over it again it will be offset positive. I can lower the image .025 and it will line up. X does not change. Any help would be appreciated.
Does it do this if you run at slower speeds?
Do the reported coordinates change each time or is the laser head at a different physical location for the same coordinates?
You can use Get Position to find the coordinates for the position where the controller thinks it put the laser head. If those remain constant with the laser head in different positions, then the machine has a mechanical problem.
I’d suspect a loose screw in one of the Y axis pulleys:
Although this list of problems covers Sculpfun machines, it will give you plenty of places to check:
everyone can laugh at me and i deserve it…
the excess cable slack was getting caught on my air pump so my highly intelligent brain said “hey put a rubber band on it to keep the slack out…”. Dumb idea..The tension was just enough to pull the carriage and give it an offset… Took off the rubber band and all is well in the universe once again… Stupid brain.
Thanks for letting us know the solution. ![]()
