Y axis problem (k40/lightburn/minigerbil)

Hi ,i have a problem with the y axis, it doesn’t seem to work
correctly, it doesn’t recognize the coordinates I entered.
Yet when i press homing, it moves perfectly.

At the link you will find 3 example videos.

1- homing
2- movement of x
3 - movement of y
any suggestions??
Thanks so much!!!

That is the sound of the stepper skipping like crazy. You are asking it to move too quickly.

This could be caused by:

  • Move speed set too high in the Move window
  • Incorrect motor steps per mm setting
  • Acceleration value set too high
  • Motor current set too low

Homing happens at a lower speed, set in the config settings, which is likely why that works.

Hi Oz,
I tried to check all those things:

  • Move speed set too high in the Move window
  • Incorrect motor steps per mm setting
  • Acceleration value set too high

but it still doesn’t work

it doesn’t recognize the coordinates I entered on y,
its like y axis is inverted when I put coordinate.

I need a little help, where I can set the * Motor current ???

Thank you Oz!

I don’t know where you would set the motor current - that would be something to ask on the Awesome Tech forum (I don’t know the Gerbil boards very well).

If the Y is inverted, you might have set the wrong origin value for the device. Where does it think it is after it’s homed? (What is the value of “Get Positions”?)

You said, “I tried to check those things but it still doesn’t work.” - What did you actually do? What are they set to? What are they supposed to be set to? If you say specifics, maybe we spot an error.
