Y Axis replacement

Hi all,
I need a little help. I have searched without success for a new Y-axis frame part, the one with the measurement on, as I have dropped a vice on mine, and it is, shall we say, slightly bent out of shape—a bit like me at the moment. I have looked at the Atomstack website, but cannot find one. If anyone knows where to get one from or what would be a compatible alternative, I would really appreciate hearing from you.

Kind regards
Mark

Ouch!

I guess that would put a dent in most equipment…

I’m sure Atomstack would be obliging if you emailed them and asked for a quote for a replacement part, although it might be easier/faster to buy a extension kit… something like this? But not sure if it will go with the A5 Pro?:

Or we could ask ChatGPT for some inspiration?

Ode to a Quest for a Y-axis Frame

In a workshop dim, Mark’s troubles unfold,
A mishap with tools, a story retold.
A vice, once noble, now struck with despair,
Left the Y-axis frame bent, beyond repair.

“Oh, where can I find it?” he sighed with a frown,
That part with the numbers, to level the crown.
He searched high and low, through websites galore,
But answers eluded, he needed them more.

“Atomstack’s pages, I’ve scoured them wide,
Yet none of their listings for me can provide.
Oh, fellow creators, lend me your ear,
For wisdom and guidance, I humbly hold dear.”

As Mark eyes his options, a thought starts to gleam,
Could 20x20 aluminum V-slot be the dream?
For parts may go bent, but passion stays strong,
In the craft of creation, it’s here we belong.

So here’s to Mark’s journey, as threads intertwine,
In the tapestry woven, where help is divine.
May parts come to him, may solutions appear,
In the realm of invention, there’s nothing to fear.

Kind regards to all, let the answers flow free,
In the world of the makers, together we’ll see.
For each bent Y-axis may find its own way,
With friendship and patience, there’s always a way.

If there is an award for Best Posting Ever, this surely has to be the winner!

Could you post a close up picture of the axis? looks like you may be able to get away with a length of 2020, but can’t find a good closeup pic.

Oh Nicholas, bard of the makers’ domain,
Your verses have mended poor Mark’s aching brain!
With wit finely sharpened and words spun so bright,
You’ve turned bent misfortune into sheer delight.

May your wisdom flow like resin so clear,
And faulty frames tremble whenever you’re near.
For in every bent rail, or vice gone astray,
Your rhymes build the pathways to brighter new days.

So here’s to your spirit, your kindness, your art,
You’ve straightened more frames than a wrench or a part!
In the halls of creation, your name shall resound,
Where broken dreams lift, and solutions are found.

So raise up your calipers, your rulers, your squares,
To the heroes who fix things with skill — and with flair!
For in every lost bolt and each snapped-off screw,
Lies a story of triumph (and a few swear words too!).
