Y-axis stops moving and moves workspace in middle of project

I recently updated my Lightburn software to version 1.4.01 and started seeing an issue. I have a FoxAlien 4040-xe with a 40w laser and run everything off of a Windows laptop. After the update I noticed that on larger burns my Y-axis would stop moving during the middle of a project while the X-axis would keep moving. The project would still burn so I would just have one line going across the workspace. Also, it seemed to only happen for one layer of a project, usually the first layer to burn, and then it would move my workspace off center of where I started it.

I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this issue and if there was a solution. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

There are two things that it could be…

LightBurn could have sent the code incorrectly.
Or
you may be seeing signs of a hardware problem - Like a stepper motor driver on its way out.

Sending the GCode incorrectly is really unlikely - but we can check it.

In LightBurn with the project loaded up and ready to run, click File, click Save GCode.

You can import the GCode back into LightBurn or use a GCode viewer to confirm that the file is correct.

This GCode reader seemed pretty quick.
