Z Axis Restriction Question

I have a spindle-mounted JTtech laser, which is set 1/8" above the workpiece. When jogging the machine in the X and Y directions, I tend to move several inches at a time (setting the distance at, for example, 5 inches or 10 inches). I’m paranoid about accidentally hitting Z-down instead of X(left) or Y(forward) and mashing my laser into the workpiece.

Are there are settings or techniques to eliminate this risk?

Yes, LightBurn provides separate Z Axis speed control to help.

Thanks for the info. I saw the “enable Z axis button” but I guess I’m not understanding how that might help if I’m 1/8" off the workpiece and accidentally hit “down Z” with a jog distance set at >1/8".

I think I saw @LightBurn mention considering adding Z Distance to that window at some point, but I could be way off.
