Z offset / material thickness

Hi,

I downloaded the last release of LightBurn.
Since the update, the laser moves on Z axis when I start the engraving, and sets around 10mm.
If I check the “Relative Z direction” option, it seems working fine : the laser doesn’t moves when “material thickness” and “Z offset” are set to “0”.

Now, I’m trying to use those options to automatically set the Z position at the beginning of the engraving. Could you explain me why the laser sits at 10mm of the endstop even when “material thickness” and “Z offset” are set to 0 ?

Have you homed the Z axis? If the machine has not been homed, absolute positioning will not work because the machine does not know where it is.

Yes, I added a switch at the top position of the device. The homing works well, and the device doesn’t work without homing first.
