Z Probe Support via A5 Pin?

Hi,

is there a way to use a Z probe via the A5 pin? It would enable some kind of better focussing.

GRBL would be the thing doing the probing, so you’d just execute a G38.2 command in the console.

How would you touch the z probe… A spindle has a metal bit to complete the connection.

You wouldn’t touch it, you’d just mount a small limit switch to a post / pin, or use a beam break, or any other standard way that auto focus units work on a laser. :slight_smile:

There are mechanical probes which act like end stops I would use.
