Hi,
I’ve found this post from earlier this year but it doesn’t help with my problem as I set it up correctly but the laser did only do the 0th step, but not the first step. I tried it multiple times, it only works the first run, but once the laser moved 1.5mm down, it doesn’t laser anymore, it just runs the path and then finishes.
In general I had it now several times that the laser leaves out a few patterns. It runs the path but between the previous lasered path, it turns off and then does not turn on fr the next. I might get it with a few tries but that should not be the solution. Not sure why it occasionally does not switch on again, especially with the z-step being used.
What do lights on top do?
Sounds more like an intermittent problem with maybe a bad connection on laser.
Try turning on with “fire” in move window and wiggle wires.
No, no loose connection. Otherwise it would Interrupt anywhere between a longer job a well and leave gaps, but it only happens between jumps from one contour to another. I also tried a simple square with a circle on the inside and some text in the square a well. Somewhat like a keychain. The text was engraved with one layer and the square and circle were cut and both in the same layer. It did the engraving and then cut the circle but after it jumped to the square it only traced the path but without the laser on.
In the latest project I faced a shift of the whole job outside the plywood boundary and when I tested the outer cut contour with the only one cut inside that contour, it only lasered the inner one. Then I split the two into two layers and it only lasered the outer one but not the inner one.
Little update:
I just tried a little bit more text and it only did the first letter, the others were only traced by the path, but not active laser.
So far I have used separate layers for each object and then it worked, but this would mean a layer per letter and that cannot be the solution. It seems to work with engraving, but not with cutting.
