Hi my ZBAITU VF20 22W high power dual fan laser module, started rattling, found screw behind one of the side fan was loose and hanging out. I removed fan shroud and tightened no more rattle. I also have an issue with when starting to engrave or cut, everything works ok except the power the laser is putting out does not even mark the wood. I have to

stop unit, home the laser and re start, then everything works as should, I have checked all settings in Lightburn everything seems to be correct, checked wire connections, have carefully cleaned nozzle and lenses al good. So not sure why this is happening? Any ideas would appreciated.
I don’t have the module in front of me so I have to ask.
Does the screw provide a ground path (or a Chassis-bond) from a circuit board on the top of the laser to the aluminum heat sink?
Sometimes screws into anodized aluminum will fail to make a good contact. Measuring the resistance between adjacent screw heads with a Multi-meter can confirm the quality of the ground path.
You also wrote that you cleaned the lenses. There should be one lens, it could be a doublet but the two pieces would be fastened together. If you cleaned an optical surface further into the module you may be inviting disaster by cleaning the front surface of the laser diode.
What did you use to clean the lenses?
I meant, I cleaned the bottom glass and the next one up, not inside. The screw was just a body screw no circuitry involved, was just horrible rattle.
Used a cotton bud and lens cleaner,
Did the lenses come out of the lens holder?
If there is more than one piece of glass, changing the placement or order of the elements can move the focal point.
A picture of the lens cleaner may help track down a safety sheet on it.
Did the lens cleaner ship with your laser engraver?
