Is it possible to combine 2 cameras to produce the image seen into light burn or have an extra display, such as a angled view be also displayed, More for monitoring than for alignment purposes. Also what is the highest meg camera that lightburn can use for alignment, I have a 8 meg and 5 meg now. Is there a 16 meg 4k or above that will work. Need a 850 x 850 area coverage, around 19-25 in height above base. Zoom capability high focus factor(1 mm or better) or as close as possible.
If the second camera has a different angle, then I guess no. You can’t combine totally different views into one. I think, the new 2.1 version of LB will support the combination of multiple cameras, but they should be mounted using the same perspective.
You should just add another webcam to your PC and use a camera application to monitor the laser.
The limit is the computational power of your PC, not LB. You can also use 100MP images, if your PC can handle it.
That’s the main question in my opinion: why would you need that? The bigger the workspace,/camera setup etc., the less precise the function will be. It usually does not make sense to have the camera covering the full workspace.
Usually, it makes sense to have a high-resolution camera covering a small part of the workspace (300x300 or 400x400), which can be used for camera alignment for small workpieces. If you have bigger workpieces, the camera makes less sense and causes more trouble than it helps.
With two cameras, I’m not entirely sure how accurate the final result will be.
If I understand correctly, a height of 19 to 25 inches requires a fairly steep angle, which will result in errors at the slightest difference in height.
Precisely because of these errors, I am currently testing another “perspective” (placing a camera at height) which may be more useful for areas like the ones you intend, and not like 400 by 400mm, which is my case.
If you think it might be useful, check here:
However, having a second camera for monitoring doesn’t seem to be a problem, as long as it’s possible to intervene promptly in case of an emergency.
I’ve found a double lens unit that’s mountable. I have to do a lot of research , I really know very little about cameras. What I is to be able to use the mask feature correctly, to stitch a stopped area back into it to continue the engraving. I’ve lost 2 big project due to power lose. The best I’ve done so far is about a 1mm, which shows a darker line that the rest due to the engraving. It just ruins the whole picture.
I sent a list of questions abbot this unit to the seller. Thank you for suggesting it. With the manual focus and the software in lightburn, it might work the way I want. I also found some bouble lens cameras, and will be investigating them.
