How do I order a new usb cable for the lightburn camera? The black wire came out of the camera plug.
what is a good camera to use or is there like one specific camera?
I keep seeing references to cameras in relation to laser etchers but I’m a novice in this field so I have no idea what the camera is for and how it relates to the laser etcher. Maybe someone more experienced can explain this to me.
Hello Brian: In case you have not learned yet, a lot of people mount cameras
an average of about 20 to 24" above the center of the work area. reason for this
is so you can see just what the laser is doing without having to look at the lase beam itself. Also a lot people use their cameras for lining up their project material so that you get nice burn/cut where you want it. Does this help?

I. Suppose there must be a floating window somewhere for the cameras view? I could really benefit from a bigger screen but this old Windows laptop is all I have that can be used in my workshop.
hello Brian, About the screen size, below is a console that I made myself. It has everything built and wired inside, mini pc and all. The screen is a 12in. screen, (11&1/2 in. dia.). So when I use my camera, the pic on the screen is only 1/2 in. sq.
I’m running Win 10 in the pc and I’m running LB
1.6. something. I also have a problem with the floating window. When I plug in my usb camera with LB turned on, LB finds the camera and auto opens the window. I can shrink my window but have not found a way to close it. When I do shrink my widow, I can’t find a way to pull it back up again. So I have to unplug the camera and then plug it back in again. I’m going to play with it for a few more days and then ask for help from the LB pros. ! joined LB in may or june of 21 and I’m still a beginner at this stuff. Here is pic of my console.
Go to finished creations and look at "My Cherokee Beast. Just scroll down looking at all the pics and you can see the story of this build that I have been working on now for 17/18 months now. Yes, I don’t know lasers and computers and I’m still learning LB. But I do know electronics.
