Accessing Alt-codes in Character Set (but not found on keyboard)?

Is it possible with the TTF typefaces in Lightburn to access “alt-characters” from the character set, i.e. symbols not on the keyboard such as the copyright symbol, the cent symbol, and some fractions like 1/2?

Example usage of copyright symbol: © 2021 www.alt-codes.net Press and hold the ALT key, type the numbers 0169 to get copyright symbol.

ALT is unfortunately used for other things in the editing window (we have a lot of shortcuts) so you can’t directly in normal text edit mode. However, select a text object, right-click, and choose Edit Text Shape

You will then get a normal text edit control like you’d have with any other basic text editor and the alt-codes will work fine there:

We try to do as much as we can in the normal text shape tool, but it ended up being much cleaner to provide the Edit Text Shape dialog for more complicated things.
Hope that helps!

Superb, as usual. Thanks!

I found that in the editing window, access to the Windows emoji keyboard is available. I’ve grown to appreciate the emoji keyboard over memorizing ASCII codes. The emoji keyboard has all of the extended ASCII characters.

(During text entry, type Windows logo key + . (period). The emoji keyboard will appear.)

WHAT?! That’s awesome. I didn’t know that was a thing - I’d seen the emoji keyboard but I thought it was just a Chrome feature (which I use all the time). I had no idea it was just a Windows feature.
Thanks @Stroonzo !

Sigh. And none of those things work in Linux. Waaahhhh…

We can blame @adammhaile for that

Blame Adam? LOL, sure I can do that.

For Mac users, Control+Command+Space.
