After YRR never the same

HELP PLEASE - - 1 ½ year owner of Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro LU2-4-SF using LightBurn currently version 1.3.01.
Set up and all jobs were easy to complete and enjoyable UNTIL installing YYR in March 2022.
From that point forward I’ve not made one successful etch, engrave, or cut.

Rotary Error 9 Alarm 2

I feel like I am losing my mind! Beginner…maybe 15 jobs in. Each time I find someone on this forum… there doesn’t seem to ever have a resolution or the fix doesn’t fix for me. Yes, I have watched the setup video that all here refer to (several times to make sure no settings have changed ie $RST=*) Yes, I have completed several ‘jobs’ on the rotary but most every time I start to do another ‘job’ the laser will not frame. The x axis will travel to 400+ and vibrate there until machine stops it an…

YYR was removed from laser June 2022 (not thrown in the trash yet) BUT I have STILL YET TO HAVE ONE SUCCESSFUL/FINSHED JOB on the flat bed.
EVERYTIME I fire up my laser hoping that it will FINALLY work this time… I will work/research intensely for WEEKS trying to once again enjoy my laser. Every time I fire it up I GO BACKWARDS fixing the same issues I fixed the last time I fired it up.
I will regularly get Error 9, and Alarm 2. Alarm 3. Alarm 1 & 18 and etc. AFTER 1 year and 1 month of TOTAL frustration (not constant )
I have a major big paying job that I have samples due by next Tuesday and now I’m panic in addition to my frustration.
Several local Lightburn users have not been able to completely solve. My brother has the same laser and has completed 1000’s of successful jobs without any difficulty. He’s unable to figure out how to fix my hardware software problems. They have gotten it fixed to a point that it will start to engrave but only to stop right at the beginning point of the job and burn a hole. BUT once I turn it off to go to bed…I turn system back on the next day only to have to go into problem solving mode of a whole host of issues to try to get back to what we were able to do the day before.
I feel like I’ve read every LAHobbyGuy, Lightburn and GITHub troubleshooting pages and probably watch most every YouTube video that’s out there for troubleshooting diode lasers with lightburn.
Should I delete Lightburn from my computer and then will they let me reinstall?
ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Below I will also include GRBL.

In any case, the reported machine position is indicative of a problem. Note the negative XY coordinates.

At this point I’d suggest you upgrade the firmware. There have been a number of issues resolved in newer firmware.

It’s unlikely that Ortur would suggest something that dissuades applying the firmware as there were several known issues in the 1.85 version of the firmware that you’re currently running. But do what makes you comfortable.

1. Was your machine homing properly prior to the firmware upgrade? I’m now thinking that it was not.
2. Did you ever change the power supply used for your laser? Or have a problem with it. I believe your machine should be a 24V machine but looking at the previous messages it looks like it may be running on 12V.
3. Is the power supply indeed plugged into the machine?
4. Can you confirm or test that the power supply is functioning properly?

I don’t think that’s the case because this used to work for her. A 12V supply out of the box would have been a DOA situation, I suspect. I’m thinking either a failing supply or a very bad connection.

I believe that, at some point during my YRR frustration of moving my laser to several other laser user’s shops searching for any help I could get, I somehow switched out my power supply with someone. I never did get my rotary working. and that’s the main reason I got it. After all the failed attempts I will not be trying the rotary unless there’s some accessible fix available to ensure a positive experience. Thank you again for getting me back up and running!
