I just read Lightburn settings for Air Assist and I’m more confused! I do not have an air pump or tubes. Yet, I experimented with the air assist off and on and there was a difference. My birchwood 2mm did not burn on air assist, but burned when it was turned off. I was cutting, not engraving. Why? Equipment Atomstack A5 pro 40. Thanks!
Does this happen every time? It doesn’t make sense that this would make a difference if you don’t have an air pump. Could it just be coincidental?
Does the fan on the laser module sound different between the two settings?
Can you attach a photo comparing the two?
Since I work outside (in Florida), it could have been that the humidity was different on the days I did this. You’re right - doesn’t make sense so must be another reason. Thanks!
Okay… If this was on different days with different conditions then that could potentially explain the difference. Primary factor would be the material type and focus if all other things equal.
