I keep getting alarm1 when i test rotary
Alarm 1 means you physically hit a limit switch. The rotary has no limit switch, so you need to tell us what else you did or observed.
You cannot Home a machine in the Rotary mode (no switch to be found).
I didn’t physically touch anything. Thats why im confused. All i did was hit test. The rotary ran, the x axis ran and then it all stopped and the alarm1 message appeared.
This is where we have a confusion. The Xaxis does not move when you click on the Rotary Test button. The rotary only turns|rolls 360 degrees and back when the mm per rotation is properly set. That value is basically the circumfrence of the chuck or the roller.
Open the Rotary Setup window and take a screen shot (WinKey+CTRL+S). Then add that to your reply.
We don’t know which Acmer laser you have, but if yours also has a switch labeled Y < > R, make sure to flip it to R
See if the info in this thread helps. You may need to disable the soft limits
