Has anyone had luck and/or some tips installing Lightburn v2+ releases on linux via some compatibility layer? I’ve tried Bottles and Proton, but not had success due to WMI error during the license initialization.
FYI, not a discussion on whether lightburn should support linux.
From previous discussions it’s unlikely to work; unless the upstream locense management vendor changes their code to have a more robust fingerprinting method for running under wine. IIRC the devs are (very reasonably) not looking to weaken the licensing code, as it will make license evasion a lot easier. I got it running, but not in a way that isn’t likely to be a huge violation of the software license, and wont share any details (and I also dont do it myself; was just looking for a way to get it running).
