My Atezr is home and framing fine. When I click on “autofocus” it does the usual routine BUT when it touches the project, it’s like it keeps wanting to go down onto it, like it’s bogging down. I checked the little button that does the autofocusing and it’s not stuck or anything. I can depress it fine with my finger. Any help is greatly appreciated. hopefully the video is helpful. At the end of the video, I show what my screen looks like, with the error message.
Would imagine it to be a hardware issue
Try this.
a) triple check all cables are correctly set and healty
b) move the Z all the way to the top, trigger auto focus (unsure if you can do it disconnected from computer)
c) before it reaches the material trigger the switch with your finger.
Does it Z? if not odds are your switch is faulty
I did as you said. It did not bog down like it does on the material but now it says “Machine exceeds maximum range of motion”. This was just on me autofocusing on my finger.
Make sure you have your Z axis enabled on the Device Settings window

Still strange it has a fault homing on material, is it reaching the end of travle of the motor before touching the switch?

Work is very small…1" x 1" and I put it out to the center of the frame just to see if that helped. Same issue.

The power adapter is the one that came with the laser.
I unplugged the laser…not sure what the laser module is (sorry). Can you explain what run the frame only is? Sorry again.

Then run the job as if it was normal
We are removing a lot of power demand and running only the “frame” As in the chassis of the machine
I unplugged both lines going into the laser head. One just turns off the light to the laser I believe, it’s on the side of the laser head. The other one is on top…not sure what it does but I can find out. Anyway, same problem persists with both of these unplugged.
