Select print area, and the project will start and go part way, fire the laser for a short period and then stop. Indications are job is still streaming and cannot exit and restart job without shutting out of program and re-entering only to experience the same failure again. Help/Ideas please.
Thank you. This statement really cuts to the chase!
If the controller isn’t generating an error message and interrupting the data then the conditions that the controller are operating under are allowed.
The USB cable can be going bad and a small loss of data can make the engraver stop without indication.
The power supply that runs the higher current devices, the stepper motors and laser, can fail and not give an indication because the controller can be powered by just the USB cable.
I often recommend a new, short shielded USB cable with ferrite beads (EM/RF suppression) as step 1.
For Step 2 I’d make sure the high current side is all plugged in securely. Start the job, then unplug the high current supply from the wall. See if this is the same symptom that you are experienceing with it quitting and becoming locked up.
Did you change anything else between when it was working last and now? Even electing a different place in your home to work can introduce unknowns.
I’m hoping we can help you get this sorted.
