Can anyone help me setup my Polar Lite with Lightburn , I have googled and searched the forums but for the life of me can’t get the autofocus to function.
I have tinkered with all of the device settings
The Z Axis is mechanically sound , when i adjust it manually it will reset when powering on the machine
no combination of settings seems to work and I must be missing something , please help
I was able to get the Z-axis working after removing the polar lite cover and fiddling with all the electronic connections.
To your point , this model has an autofocus and I believe the built in depth is 17mm , when I use the autofocus function it taps the material and then backs itself out accordingly , I have left the z axis at 0 and have not inputted the material thickness .
So now my question is should I still tinker with the z axis mm settings given the autofocus function ?
Glad it’s moving now. If checking the connections fixed it, that points more toward a loose connection than a LightBurn setting.
For now, I’d keep it simple: use the machine’s autofocus first, then run a simple test with Relative Z Moves Only enabled so LightBurn treats the focused position as the starting point.
Only use the material thickness/Polar Z workflow if you specifically want LightBurn to manage Z height during the job.
