how I can determine if the tension of belt is correct?

Loosen the pinion locking bolt, push one finger gently against the pinion to take up the slack, nut it back up.

The belt only needs to be tight enough that the lugs don’t climb up over the crenellations in the pinion.

‘Boing’ is too tight. ‘Thud’ is good :slight_smile:

You should be able to pinch the middle of the belt together without deforming the pinion/stepper/idler mounts.
