I installed my board today and got it set up in Lightburn. I’m messing with it and can’t get it to do a frame. I hear the laser making the clicking noise like it would be framing, but I don’t see any actual laser output.
If I set the laser to mark mode- it does actually operate the laser. I can see it engraving.
Edit: I uninstalled the lightburn galvo driver, installed the ezcad driver, opened ezcad, did a test, then uninstalled ezcad driver and reinstalled lightburn driver and it seems to be good! I also imported my EZCad Config which helped a lot.
Edit 2: It seems like lightburn’s max laser power isn’t my full power. I’m getting much lighter engravings on the same parts and settings (at least the ones that were available in SeaCAD before I swapped the board)
These are my settings in SeaCAD which provide a very nice marking in 1 pass on Aluminum.
Here are my Lightburn settings:
Changing laser type to IPG_YLPM as described in this thread seems to help a lot, but its still probably only 30% or so of what I get with SeaCAD. Interestingly, it is a RAYCUS board.
7pm update…
Been fine tuning it and its working pretty good now, I’d say about 85% for a solid object. However when I try and do things that are more complex the results are inconstent.
