Burning a large job

Hi all,
I started a large burning job on the reverse of a mirror. the job got about half way (3 hours) and then stopped. I could not find a reason for it stopping and failed to write down the messages in the console but i do remember seeing the word ‘‘buffer’’.
It would be much appreciated if there is an answer as this is the second large mirror i have lost.

‘Target buffer size found’ is what LightBurn says when it first connects to a controller, and queries it for some basic info. That’s not an error, but it tells you that the board disconnected, then reconnected, and that’s relatively common. It can be caused by:

  • Poor quality USB cable (no shielding or ferrite rings)
  • Poor quality power supply, or not enough power for the laser, causing brownouts
  • Electrical noise induced in the USB connection
  • Static electricity discharge
  • USB port power save / sleep

Some of these are covered here: How to troubleshoot connection issues with USB

Thanks for the reply. USB power save was enabled. I have disabled it and will be purchasing a decent cable as well. I think i might run a trial job with the laser switched of to see if it completes.
