Cannot align bi-direction and non-bi-directional fills at the same time

This may be another machine with the wrong STEP signal polarity for either (or both!) axes from the factory. Some earlier problems explain what’s going on:

Cuts in the wrong location / offset

I’m running Lightburn 1.4.00. I should renew my subscription, but money’s been tight. All of the sudden, the cuts are being made in an offset, looks like both X (positive) and Y (negative) axis. The prototype was cut fine. After that, I made some alterations to the design and the offset appeared. The preview shows that everything should line up correctly, but the laser does something different. I’m 99.9% sure it’s not belt slippage or some other mechanical issue, since I’ve cut other designs in…

If getting the polarity right doesn’t fix it, then things get interesting. Successfully running a backlash test pattern will eliminate a bunch of other possibilities:

Any distortion in the results on the cardboard indicates a mechanical problem, which I don’t expect …
