G’day
Thinking of getting a CO2 laser and would like to not change from lightburn. Any suggestions? TIA.
There’s a little change… Most of the larger CO2 laser engravers use a Ruida controller, there are Topwisdom and Trocen as well. Machine Settings are handled quite differently.
Any of these will make a LightBurn DSP License (upgrade) a necessity.
You don’t need a new License, just a level-up.
The biggest question is, What would you like to do?
Cut acrylic, cut wood, make big stuff, try new materials?
There’s stuff that you can do nicely on a K40 if that’s sufficient for what you want to do. If you picked a Variant with an 32 Bit GRBL, like GRBL-STM32, Grbl-HAL, or FluidNC you’d have the speed and performance that you’d need in a GCode controller (with your GCode License) without the requirement for the additional license upgrade.
Thank you
I just want to cut clear acrylic, up tp 6mm. Nothing too big.
Some people tell me a K40 would do it, some say not.
Been on diodes too long I guess.
