Conveyor controlled by rotary port

I built a conveyor for my laser. I intend on using the Y axis port to control it. this will hold long narrow projects. When I turn on the rotary off option the motor turns slow but if i turn off the rotary option the motor acts like it binds and just sort of grinds and will not turn. Even the rotary i have does the same thing. Is there a way to control a conveyor the same as a rotary? Do i need to change a setting in the rotary settings that will allow the stepper motor to move faster?

Did you change the Ruida to know the new work area size?

How is the device setup in the rotary gui?

Specifically steps/rotation?

This is the basics on a rotary… see if that helps

Good luck

Thanks, I will try this tomorrow.

I do have a rotary. I just tried to use the same settings. The work area is about 48" long. The laser bed is not that big. I will be using the passthrough. Not sure how to reset the work area size for the project. I used the same type motor as the one that is on the Mansfield customs rotary that I have.

What same settings? … I know you know, but I’m still not totally following you.

If you use the same motor and both fail, it’s likely a setup issue.

Did you follow the link on how to set the steps/rotation?
