Creating a layout using alternate versions of layers for use with multiple lasers

Hello! I currently in the middle of trying to figure out how to properly use the layer system in conjuction with my lasers. At the moment I have 1.6W, 10W, 22W, and 40W diode lasers. I’m struggling to figure out how to use the layers to set up all necessary profiles.

Ideally, I’d really like to be able to always have layer 0(black) be cut, layer 1(blue) be fill, and so on. How can I set lightburn up so that I can flip flop between lasers without having to go into the layer settings every time and adjust the settings for the laser i’m using? Is there a way to have a default value for a layer per laser?

While I’m here… any way to change the thickness/visibility of the lines of the objects I import? Whenever I import a file, it’s difficult to see lighter color layers. I’ve turned it to dark mode which unfortunately makes the dark layers almost impossible to discern from the background. Scaling text also seems to only have a small amount of flexibility. Even when scaling it as large as it will go. I still have to squint at the screen to make out text. Thinking it’s related to 4k screens.

Thanks for your time guys! Laser engraving has been so much fun, now it is time to properly organize my software settings before everything gets jumbled up!

You’d likely want to take advantage of Material Libraries to accomplish this. Take a look a this post:
