Cutting letters burn path

Hi,

When cutting a word from MDF I notice the laser cuts the outline shape and then returns to cut the inner parts last. For example, if I cut the name “Jake” and run 3 passes. The letters ‘a’ and ‘e’ have inner parts. These small semi-circles will have 3 passes one after the other. This puts them under high constant exposure, which is causing burn marks on the final product.

Is there a solution to this that doesn’t involve running the laser for one pass at a time? For example, can I set the laser to cut the entire design before restarting for the second pass?

Lightburn Super Trick

Hello to all. Instead of making multi-pass cuts in intricate details where laser burns the same segment over and over again and that sometimes leads to material burn… You can automatically make 1 pass cut plus 1 pass cut plus 1 pass cut and so on to let material cool a bit. Using Lightburn sub-layers like in the enclosed example. It take a few seconds more but gives much better results.
