I just want to say that not setting or updating the focus point material thickness is also one of my frequent errors as a beginner. If the default material thickness is still set to zero, the software could ask if it is correct. But I often reuse files for different materials so that alone would not help. A club I belong to has a small checklist for turning on the vent, powering up, etc and I used it because I was afraid to screw up an expensive laser. Now that I have my own cheaper one I have a routine startup process but that doesn’t include the material thickness setting. Will try a checklist in the meantime but I think the original suggestion is valid.

Hey @Rick is it possible to close one of the threads? Everyone doesn’t read the one with the info in it and comments basically things that have already been suggested kind of adding to his annoyance and rightfully so.
