That’s understandable. I’ve been throwing things at it and seeing what sticks. So far this version seems to work with the least amount of issues, so I guess I’ll stick with it and see what I can do.
I read the reversed image can be due to origin settings being incorrect. Can those be adjusted via the GRBL settings?
I am starting to use LB only since it seems to be far better software for this. I did change my origin and my test burns are in the correct orientation now. Just need to mess with the GRBL settings so the size is accurate. Right now they are coming out smaller than what I enter.
I changed $100 and $101 so now my dimensions are correct. I’ve done a few tests and so far everything is working great. I’m still learning LB but I am enjoying it much more than the previous software I was using. I appreciate everyones assistance and apologize for the confusing process to get things working again. Thanks!
I think it was more of a learning curve with LB and being used to the old EleksCam software I was using before. I love LB now that I’ve gotten comfortable with it. I’ve adjusted the speed and power settings in LB to acheive my desired results and found some really great features I didn’t have access to before with the previous software. I’m still on a trial but I intend on purchasing it. The current firmware is working great as well and I’ve made sure to back up settings this time.
Hi Neil,
I’m about to embark on the exact same journey that you did last March. I purchased a Eleksmaker laser and it sat in the box for about 8 years. I assembled it about 2 years ago, but never connected it. Since then, I purchased a fiber laser and got familiar with EzCad. Now, I have an application that requires cutting acrylic, and my fiber laser just melts it. I downloaded LightBurn (that I purchased about a year ago but never used) converted some files and tried to connect it to my controller via USB - no dice - it won’t connect. I tried reloading the Nano using LightBurn… it still won’t connect. I purchased another Nano board, downloaded IDE and now I’m ready for “anything.” While I’ve read this entire thread, since it kinda jumps back and forth, do you think you can draft a quick step-by-step for how I might get this running. Even though I know it might be a learning experience… I’m afraid that I’ll make I’ll make mistakes that will cost me time and frustration.
