I could use a LOT of help in engraving on glass.
Looking to engrave vector images on glass tumblers.
Seems like it should be simple, but I have tried numerous settings without success. Sometimes it burns through the masking tape with nothing on the glass, and sometimes it chips the glass.
Using an Ortur LaserMaster with rotary.
HELP!

Use @bulldog ’s Norton tile-engraving method as shown in this thread… uses flat-white paint, acetone or paint-thinner, and diode laser
Kids’ needed to go to HD for some stuff yesterday and I managed to piggy-back a carton of ceramic tiles onto their shopping list. These are my first full-tile engravings… 2.5W laser on DIY CNC machine, 1200 mm/min, 85% power, Jarvis dither, ~300 DPI, unrecognizable faces…

Pretty pleased with the attempt. Obviously need to learn how to measure tiles properly and center the image… and need more practice processing photos for lasering…
It works for glass as well…
Hard, permanent, image on transparent picture-frame glass…

Go to Norton’s den of lasers Facebook page and join up.
You’ll get a tremendous amount of help from very knowledgeable people.
I look forward to seeing you there.
