We are looking at purchasing an Amada LC1212 laser which has a Fanuc Series 160i-L controller. We already use Lightburn software with other machines, so I’d like to keep using it with this new laser. Has anyone tried it before with a Fanuc controller? Any feedback gratefully received!
My experience with Fanuc controller and a different brand laser was a long time ago.
You should find out what software is currently running the laser. Most likely it is a proprietary Amada software. You could design in LB, and probably export DXF to the Amada software. If you are creating bezier curves in LB, they might export in DXF as polyarcs that are shorter segments to represent the curve. Not the best if you are cutting sheet metal. Only way to find out is to export DXF files from LB and watch them being cut on the Amada.
