Hello,
Has Lightburn considered adding a job log feature? Nothing fancy, but something that can be used to look at job information after being run that can help, at least for me, mostly with billing and/or cost models.
I probably should have put more thought into it before posting this but others may have ideas too, but I’m thinking something like this.
Text file format with the name using the format Year, Month, Day (2024-11-09), Job/File Name and perhaps a numberic increment or the time so that the logs can be sorted easily using the name. This is just an idea and maybe job name should come first since files can be sorted in a directory however you want.
For the job elements, the runtime of each layer and a total job time. I don’t necessarily run all layers contiguously, for example I may run an engrave job then a profile/cutout job manually afterwards so I’m not sure how to account for the log knowing that I haven’t finished the job doing it this way.
Other details like the settings for the layers might be useful for future reference though for me, this is secondary to statistics that tell me how much laser time was used to run the entire job.
The ability to enable this globally would be useful perhaps with checkbox option to deselect it within the job itself for those where it’s not necessary?
Again, sorry, I at one time had a list of what would be useful but my procrastination got in the way and I can’t find it but did want to finally post this request because I think it could be helpful for those who like myself, do other tasks while the laser is running and sometimes forget to watch each layer as the complete to document the time.
Finally, I looked for this feature in the software but would be happily embarrassed if someone points out an existing ability.
Thank you for your consideration
