I just recently upgraded my software license to the DSP version as I just upgraded to a 60w co2 laser from OMtech. I forced the connection by deactivating the license and then reactivating it. It does now show DSP in the license window. However I still can’t get the “find my laser” to find my machine. I can see that the usb serial port shows up when plugged in and the machine is on, but the find my laser feature comes back with nothing. Can you please assist me? Thank you.
Have you installed the drivers for your machine?
It seems like the only drivers that came with it are for windows in a .rar file. Is there a way to download the drivers for a Mac. I can’t seem to find the right file online. Thanks for your help!
If you are on the latest version of mac os, this should get you going:
- Download the macOS 11/12 driver from this site: https://ftdichip.com/drivers/vcp-drivers/
- Open the .dmg file (in your downloads) and copy the installer from within the .dmg, into the Applications folder of your mac.
- Run the installer. If there is an error saying “Awaiting Approval” go to your System Settings > Privacy and Security and scroll down. There will be a message saying "System software from application “FTDIUSBSerialDexInstaller_x_x_x” was blocked from loading. Click Allow. Installer will complete.
- Restart and try finding your laser again
Thank you so much!
