How is this Focus Z button enabled? I’m using the lbdev file they provided and I’ve tried playing with all of the z-axis options in the machine settings but none seem to enable this.
I’m having to focus with a macro on the console window still.

I’m looking for this as well.
Check if the docs help:
No, so far I’ve not found a way to make that button appear on the Move window as shown in the video.
And if you press Alt + Shift + Z ?
Where did that custom Z-Code thing come from? That literally solved all the issues I was having with Lightburn and my Wecreat Vision.
WeCreat is a GRBL machine so just create a new Device as Custom GCode with GRBL flavor, actually with configs from the WeCreat.lbdev I have.
You should send that file to wecreat so they can see how that machine should run.
You have no idea how much time I’ve spent trying to get Lightburn to work with that one they have on their website.
There’s still a little jank with it, but there are options in the device settings now I can change to make it work.
Hats off to you sir, well done and much appreciated. Wish I would have run across this sooner.
I’ve been absent on my own post but this is awesome, thank you. I’m going to load up a version with the custom lbdev above tomorrow. Thank you @parsec
I downloaded and imported the WeCreat_Custom GCode.lbdev file (thanks parsec) and the button appears under the Move tab now but unfortunately absolutely nothing happens when I click it. The up Z Axis arrow and the down Z Axis arrow both respond now but there is no reaction from Focus Z. I have been futzing around with this for the last three weeks since I got the machine (WeCreat 40) and today is the first move in a positive direction I have seen with the download of your file. Unfortunately I cant calibrate my camera until I can get this autofocus problem resolved. I have the most recent WeCreat Firmware and Software versions and I have tried every configuration of the Z Control options in LightBurn (Enable Z Axis, Relative Z Moves Only, and Optimize Z Moves). I’m probably missing something obvious but if anyone can help it would be appreciated. Right now the WeCreat software is adequate for the jobs I have run but I would rather be working from LightBurn.
I haven’t had a chance to test this either as I’ve been deep in UV laser world lately, but I’m curious if you see anything in the console window after pressing that focus Z button?
Also I assume it’s expected to behave the same as the macro focus button where it goes to a fixed position? MakeIt sends it over to where the artwork is before focusing but the LB macro just goes to a fixed X/Y position that you can adjust on the macro.
Spot on advice parsec! Entering it in GCode worked out beautifully, thank you.
No (if the question was directed to me) I can only see the cutting area in the Camera tab. Of course that wont help me place the job on the material but I’m getting closer.
You can move your shapes to the Center of the page (P key) and set your Focus Z command to M130X210Y145 so you always have material under the laser to auto-focus and run your jobs from that position
Update Custom GCode device with Macros Laser Offset and Auto Focus Z set to M130X200Y150.
Enjoy.
