By default, xTool has a ‘Laser pointer offset’ in the Device Settings window (‘Edit’ > ‘Device Settings’). Try toggling that off, and instead enabling the laser ‘Fire’ button so that your laser fires when framing.
You should also change the positioning mode to ‘Laser spot’ in xTool’s Creative Space app.
