Framing does not include Laser Offset

I’m not understanding something. I have a jig setup so that if I frame with the main laser (diode, g-code), it frames in the correct position. However, if I turn the offset on, nothing changes. The red dot is still offset from the actual location. This seems pointless. It seems to cut/engrave where it always did, but the red dot shows nothing useful. What am I missing? thanks.
UPDATE
Ok, when I actually engrave it does the offset. But the frame shows incorrectly. It seem like the frame should show where it’s going to engrave, but it doesn’t. That seems to completely negate the advantage of the red dot…

I’m using absolute coordinates, as the jig is tied to the frame of the laser. Maybe if I was using current position it would make sense.

UPDATE2
Ok, using Current POsition, I see how this works and makes sense. However, it doesn’t from an absolute position viewpoint.

The problem is if you switch between absolute and current position, I have to switch that setting off for absolute.

This is a total mess. Works fine if you only use relative coordinates, but if you do anything with absolute coordinates it screws everything up unless you turn the offset OFF.
