Does it work if you use a larger split size? I just ran a test on my own G2, and it’s all working as expected. The only significant difference between my settings and yours is that I used a 1mm split.
Smaller should work, so I’m going to try your setting next - it’s possible that the tiny split is causing the issue.
Edit: In fact, with your settings (226mm object diameter, 3200 steps per rotation), the smallest usable split size is actually ~0.055mm, and it should tell you that on the screen. It’s supposed to use the smallest split size that it can, so I’ll check to see if there’s something weird happening there.
Ok, even with your split setup I’m not having any trouble. Can you show a screen shot of how your design is laid out in LightBurn, and a photo of how you have the rotary set up under the laser?

I tried it with the larger split size and it still doesnt rotate when engraving. Still works fine in test.
I haven’t received a alert about the split size.
If you remove the tumbler and replace it with something very light, like a cardboard tube or aluminum can, does it work then?
Also, can you show a screen shot of the settings for your layers? I’m wondering if you have repeats or something else set up that could be making a single slice take longer than expected. Have you tried something simple like a filled rectangle?
I have tried a circle and acted the same. I will try a smaller diameter later when i get home.
Just to confirm, I installed th 1.7exe file. That is the correct file right?
Yes, though I have a newer one than is currently available. I’ll work to get a beta version posted up you can try.
It works fine with Gweike native software and functions fine when i test. I have to be doing something in the settings i would think but i only changed the rotary settings for the steps and acc speed max and min speeds to Gweike settings for this rotary. All software settings are default to whatever LB had from install.
No, it’s entirely possible it was a bug either on our side or in the BSL library we were given, but my current version seems to be working. We changed the way our builds are updated / posted here, so it might take a day or two to post up.
Here is everything I can think of for settings
Using cross-hatch on your job is a little odd, since your splits are so tiny - doing that will make the splits take longer, but it shouldn’t prevent the rotary from rotating.
When you run it, do you see the slice counter in the window increasing? It should say “running slice x of y”… and the ‘x’ number should be increasing. If it is, and the rotary isn’t turning, then something’s up. If that number isn’t increasing, then something else is going on.
Yeah i noticed the cross hatch when i screen shot this. I fixed it now. I do see the slice counter as i should.
Im not going to lie, Im a fiber newbie. Im learning this as i go. But i do do a lot of research before bugging y’all. I just couldn’t come up with any answers. Gweike dev team remoted in and couldnt find anything.
There’s a new Beta posted in the BSL folder. Install it, and it’ll ask you if you want to copy your existing prefs - do that, then try it and let me know what happens. You should be able to install it in addition to the existing 1.7 beta if you want to.
Ill install and let you know when i get home later.
