Hard limit error

Can you copy the error here?

That’s now starting to not make sense.

Can you go through these steps to gather some additional data please?

  1. Restart laser with head at front left. Then run these commands in the Console window. Copy and paste back the results.
$$
$#
?
  1. Using jogging controls to move laser to top left. Then type ? in console. Return results.
  2. Repeat above for top right.
  3. Repeat above for front right.

front right:<Idle|MPos:190.000,190.000,0.000|FS:0,0|WCO:0.000,0.000,0.000>

top right:<Idle|MPos:-10.000,190.000,0.000|FS:0,0|WCO:0.000,0.000,0.000>

front right: please ignore the other <Idle|MPos:140.000,190.000,0.000|FS:0,0|WCO:0.000,0.000,0.000>

Do you or do you not have homing switches?

You have homing enabled, which require homing switches or you get an alarm 1

I didn’t think you could get a ‘hard limit’ error with that option turned off.

:smile_cat:

Is this what you’re describing in terms of the coordinates?

Can take a photo of the laser as you have it setup please?

here is the picture of my laser

me either but for some reason i still am and its a bit flustering because i dont know what else to try

side note!! i only have this issue when trying to fill (engrave) when i do like lines it works just fine

Do you have flood fill enabled? That can cause issues…

:smile_cat:

I’m fairly certain that your machine is intended to have homing switches based on a previous topic involving the same laser. Does your machine attempt to move the laser head when first started?

That’s kind of a major side note.

Can you attach the .lbrn file here please? I suspect you’ve got an overscan that’s taking you beyond the borders of the bed.

here is the file

where do i find the flood fill setting please?

I don’t see anything obvious from the file. I thought you would have a very large overscan value.

Can you try disabling overscan in the cut settings?

Also, please confirm the coordinates in my previous post. They’re very unusual. Also, I think your laser is intended to be rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise.

Do your jogging controls work in the intended direction?

Try turning the laser counter-clockwise. Recycle laser with head at front left from new orientation and try again.

turned the machine and yes jogging controls work in the intended direction

Are you now able to burn?

nope, im starting to think i have a faulty machine

because everything has failed at this point i really think it the machine

Hi I had a similar problem. I think the cause of mine was the timing belts. Try tightening yours

Same thing happened to me. In machine settings the …Hard limits ($21) True. That had to be set to False.
It worked for me.
