Having issues with Mac and Lightburn

I just installed the update 1.4.03, and everything works for a second, and then I can’t use the toolbar, or arrows on my macbook.
So if I try to go to select all layers with the color, or anything really it freezes. I can manually select and use the mouse, and move the objects, but it also disables my arrows from being used and I can’t undo anything. Once I delete something as well, I can’t command z and it just glitches. I have uninstalled and gone back all the way to 1.4.0 and still having this issue, which I have never dealt with before.
With previous versions I’ve never experienced this so i’m not sure whats happening.
It’s not my macbook as other programs work fine, like illustrator or anything else, just lightburn. I’ve restarted it and immediately have the same issue.

Is anyone else having this issue?
Not sure what to do.

Someone with a Mac that uses it enough to know what’s happening might need to help you…

Maybe @Rick could suggest a proper course to help you with this.

Good luck

I have not seen this, and no other reports like this have come in. Tell us more about the MacBook and the OS used. What version of LightBurn were you successfully running previously?

@hdelyea, thank you for the email as well. You will need to make the video you shared public for us to be able to access and view.

Hi Rick, I am using a macbook pro, and it is using the sonoma 14.0 mac os. I started getting the issue when I installed verision 1.4.0.3, but even when I did downgrade I’m still getting the issue…so it could be linked to the new sonoma upgrade maybe as that came out at the same time, but i could be wrong…
I’ve been using lightburn for a while and never had this issue before.

I did also give access to the video, didn’t realize i marked it as private, sorry!

I had a similar crashes on a 2019 macbook air running sonoma & LB 1.4.03. The crashes were preceeded by some horrible intermittent lag.
I changed the autosave from default 2 minutes to ten minutes and I haven’t had a crash since.

Hi,
it’s a 2021 macbook pro, but lightburn doesn’t seem to crash when it happens. It technically still works, somewhat and I can send jobs to the laser. I then restart it, and I get no crash report.

Hi Rick,
I seemed to have found the bug I think. It’s when I go to help, I’ve been going to the actual menu area today and haven’t had the issue, but it did come up when i go to help, type it in and then try to click on the thing i need.
Now i dunno whats causing it, but i’ve at least for a somewhat work around for now and i guess never use help again lol

Thank you for these further observations. Helpful in tracking down what you are seeing. Glad to hear you can use the latest, as long as you pick the menu option directly. We are investigating further.

Yes, after doing a bit of digging, this behavior has been reported previously and is a Sonoma related issue.

The Apple support forums may provide some direction, as there have been reports of ‘Spotlight’, the OS level search tool, having issues.

Thank you, at least we know whats causing it. Hopefully they’ll release a fix for it
Thank you for your help!
