Help with stepping and sizing value

i have a comgo 4 in 1 rotary attachment for my comgo z1 and use window laptop and hp desk top. My question is why after disconnecting my rotary and switching back to normal engraving are all my images oversized from the parameters i have set. 3 inch is 5 inch, 11 is 16, 7 is 10. i am tiring to figure it out but i am at my wits end. Also, had a hell of a time trying to reset my stepping values. didn’t realize at the time they weren’t separate. how do i find the proer setting for my steps so i can write them down or save them? had to reinstall light burn and i think its still wrong. i am new to all this.

You do not say what axis, or if it is both. If it is just one, the rotary can still be selected somewhere.

You did record the settings before changing them, right?

You should only be changing the step parameters in the Rotary setup window.

Trial and error. You have the steps right when you have exactly one rotation of the chuck or roller using the Test button.

This rarely solves any problems.

hi. Thanks.

No i didn’t save the settings before hand which was my problem. Like a new born, i assumed they were separate and saved on their own. setting up the rotary i had to put in $101=100. reinstalling Lightburn did nothing. reinstalling my prefs back up did nothing. almost was ready to reinstall the firmware for the comgo Z1 but was really nervous about that…
after some banging my head on the wall, i retraced all my step to set up the rotary. after a few more whacks on the wall, i tried imputing my commands in reverse. $100=101. that seemed to help so after doing that i burned a small square at 2in x 2in. found the actual burn was 2.5 and 2.5. From there i went to calibrate function and recalibrated the axis y & x and that worked. it now runs to the sizes i put in and where i place them. i don’t know if what i did was the right way but it seems to work. just to make sure, I went through the rotary set up again and then back to flat and re-did the same steps and it worked out fine. Thanks for responding. for a while there i thought i had really screwed something up.

If it is fixed, it was the right way. Glad you reasoned it pot and got it fixed!

Anybody that says this did not happen to them have only convinced themselves. Not making it worse while trying to fix it is the real win.
