At 15W, I’m assuming you have a diode laser.
My first question is have you done any dot tests to see what your best speed and power are for doing photo engraving. If not, Russ has a few good videos on photo engraving and how to get you proper settings for it. He’s using a CO2, but I would expect what you are trying to achieve is the same. Take a look through his videos and go through them. I know in one of the photo engraving videos, if you send him a message in the comments, he’ll send you his instruction sheet on the process as well as a dxf file for the tests.
